Winemaker & Vignernon
Thomas Bachelder
THOMAS BACHELDER is an internationally recognized Canadian winemaker - and Le Clos Jordanne’s original founding winemaker - with a speciality in the production of cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
His terroir-revealing wines with distinct, complex minerality helped to propel a young Niagara region into the global spotlight in the mid to late 2000s. His efforts were instrumental in showcasing how old world, Burgundian winemaking techniques employed on new world terroir - with minimal intervention – can produce exceptional wines.
The original goal of Le Clos Jordanne was to create a ‘domaine’ in the Niagara region, producing ultra-premium, Burgundian-style Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, entirely from our vines.
I am thrilled to be able to expand that mission to include the terroirs of both Jordan and Beamsville Bench

Associate Winemaker
Phillip Brown
Phillip is part of a new generation of cool climate winemakers with the desire to reveal the nuance and intrigue of Niagara’s terroir to the world. Phillip has shared in the process of making high quality, focused wines with a deep connection to place since the beginning of his journey through wine with the Arterra team back in 2010 at Inniskillin Wines. He continued to explore the unique terroirs of Ontario by spending a year in Prince Edward County focusing on organic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay before returning to the Arterra team at Jackson Triggs Estate Winery.
After an international harvest in New Zealand and years of mentorship of some of Niagara most renown winemakers, Phillip found himself at the helm as Winemaker for Jackson Triggs in 2022. Having worked closely with Thomas Bachelder on the Le Clos Jordanne project since its rebirth in 2017 he was elated to continue his journey with the project at the new Domaine Le Clos Jordanne, where he will continue his passion to craft terroir-revealing wines expressive of our unique Niagara bench alongside Thomas.
Burgundy is the benchmark for class and style when it comes to terroir driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. I believe that the wines we are crafting at DLCJ from grape to bottle are afforded the same amount of care, attention to detail, and winemaking prowess from a team equipped with the knowledge and understanding of both old world and new world winemaking techniques. This will set the stage and help to define Niagara to the world as a benchmark, of terroir driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Assistant Winemaker
Kerri Crawford
Kerri joined the team at Domaine Le Clos Jordanne in 2023 with a well-rounded history in the wine industry both in Ontario and abroad. She brings experience from years working in small, premium wineries, most of which focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in cool climates. She has a passion for cool climate wines and for showcasing Ontario terroirs, which makes DLCJ the perfect home for her.
Kerri grew up amongst emerging wineries in PEC before moving to Niagara to study at Niagara College. Following her studies, she moved abroad, spending long stretches in vineyards and wineries in Central Otago, New Zealand, Russian River Valley in California, and Mornington Peninsula in Australia before returning to PEC and eventually settling on the Beamsville Bench. She did a harvest with Le Clos Jordanne in 2012 during our time with Constellation Brands.
Kerri’s wide range of experiences has allowed her to develop an advanced skillset in all areas of winemaking and viticulture, as well as hospitality and wine study through the WSET diploma. Kerri is our all-rounder. She can be found doing almost any task in the winery, barrel cellar, or lab, scouting the vineyard, or working on keeping us organised by tracking our winemaking activities.
